New timing: Life before Corona and life with Corona – effects of the pandemic – fears, changes, measures in Europe – in conversation with a student from Great Britain Morgan Woodword, Filip Lerch blogger and student from Poland.

The corona pandemic is having a global impact on competition. There are challenges in handling and the approach. Is globalization about to change? What are the effects of the shortage of skilled workers? We ask Oliwer Mikus, entrepreneur and head of Sedulus Sp. O.o. – Recruitment. “A bundle of factors was responsible for the emigration in recent years: poor career prospects for young people, material dependency on parents and poor internal mobility. The high rents in Polish metropolitan areas represented a clear stumbling block for internal migration“, says Oliwer Mikus from professional experience.

Second Lockdown? No problem!

It seems like we’re all experiencing déjà vu! Many countries in Europe have been thrown back into a lockdown after a summer of easing regulations.

Covid-19 PandemieThe first lockdown in March was forgotten in a blur of 3am nights and 1pm mornings. We watched all of the shows Netflix, stared at a constant stream of TikTok and didn’t get out of our pyjamas. Once that become tiring, we started flocking to YouTube, clicking on ‘Chloe Tings 2 Week Shred challenge’ with absolute resolve, thinking of the ‘new me’ once the lock down ended. That was until five minutes later when, clutching our hearts and sprawled on the floor, we panted away our regrets.

This time around, however, we want to do things right. We no longer have the comfort of summer nights and sun pouring through the windows. As short cold days approach, we ask how we can nail the lockdown the second time around.

1.) Create a routine: This means getting out of bed! It will be difficult but absolutely necessary if you want to be productive.

2.) Exercise in the morning: Before you even go to sleep, set out your exercise clothes the night before and put them on the moment you get out of bed. Then do what makes you feel good: take half an hour to go for a walk, do some yoga, complete an exercise video, or go for a run. It should feel great and be something you want to do.

3.) Read: We never have enough time. I get it. Yet, remember that time we used to spend just traveling to work? Try spending that time reading instead, I bet you have a pile of books you wanted to get through. Why not now? Set an alarm on your phone, sit by a window, and get lost in a life that isn’t your own.

4.) Take a break: It is hard spending all of your time stuck in the same room. If you are starting to feel it, leave your work and come back to it. Go clear your mind, go for a walk, or do some baking. When you come back your work will be more productive than ever.

Remember, however, to be kind to others aswell as yourself. We are going through an unprecedented time and it is difficult for everybody. It is okay to ask for help, it is okay if you aren’t feeling you finest and it is okay to spend a day watching Netflix. We will get through this lockdown and on the other side are all of the things we look forward to most. We can do this!

Słabe perspektywy zawodowe to jeden z głównych czynników migracji w ostatnich latach.

Morgan Woodward, 21 letnia studentka o swoich doświadczeniach w czasie lockdownu w marcu. Netflix, TikTok, całe dnie w piżamie. Później YouTube i determinacja do zmiany siebie.
